Devlog #2 - Preliminary playtest results
What a busy weekend.
I've been running a closed playtest with friends and family and the amounts and quality of feedback I've received has been amazing. Insane even. I've been working on polishing, new features, squashing bugs and balancing based on that feedback. There will be a long list of action items to go in the future. The journey so far has been awesome, and the playtest has given me great amounts of drive to go forwards.
Here's some fun findings from the playtest data:
- 50% of the players found the game too difficult. Another 50% of the players are more or less perfectly happy with current difficulty level. It's definitely something I need to work on, but looks like I'm onto a good start!
- 100% players think the game's session length is more or less perfect. Not too long, not too short. This makes me extremely happy!
- 100% of the players think the Machine Gunner is their favorite unit to play with. Maybe a little nerf is in order?
- However, when it comes to enemies, majority of the players found Special Operator most dangerous. Interesting...
I will be running these tests for the length of next week and after that I will focus on working on the next build. Hopefully being able to test it with the lot of you in the foreseeable future :)
